Getting started

What is ColorFly.design?
ColorFly is an AI color strategy workspace for creating, visualizing, refining, and handing off functional brand color systems. It combines palette generation with color roles, contrast guidance, realistic previews, editing tools, and exports.
Who is ColorFly made for?
ColorFly is built for brand designers, UI and web designers, freelancers, founders, studios, and creative teams that need to move from color inspiration to a usable system.
Does ColorFly replace a designer?
No. ColorFly helps generate directions, reveal practical issues, and accelerate repetitive color-system work. Professional judgment, accessibility decisions, brand context, and final approval still belong to the designer and project team.
How can I create a palette?
Describe the brand, audience, mood, industry, or visual direction in the prompt field. You can also upload an image or logo, paste a screenshot from your clipboard, or use a public palette as the starting point for a new direction.
Can I create a palette from a screenshot or reference image?
Yes. Upload an image, paste it with Ctrl + V on supported browsers, or use the camera option on mobile. ColorFly reads the visual reference and creates a functional palette around it.
02

AI and editing

What counts as one AI action?
One new AI palette generation or one AI edit to the current palette uses one AI action. Creating a palette from an uploaded image also counts as one AI action.
Do manual color and role changes use AI actions?
No. Changing a HEX color manually, updating CMYK values, reassigning color roles, saving a palette, and browsing visualizer previews do not consume AI actions.
Can I ask AI to edit an existing palette?
Yes. Ask for focused changes such as replacing, adding, deleting, simplifying, or relocating colors. ColorFly keeps the current palette as context so you can refine a direction instead of starting again.
What happens after I manually change a color?
The HEX value updates immediately. Because the old color name and strategic description may no longer match, ColorFly can prepare an AI prompt that updates the written palette details while keeping every color code unchanged.
What is version control?
Version control stores earlier palette states so you can preview and restore a stronger direction. Starter keeps up to 5 versions per palette, Solopreneur up to 25, and Agency up to 100.

Palettes and privacy

Are palettes public or private?
Palettes created on Warm Up are public. Paid plans let owners switch their palettes between public and private whenever needed.
Can I share a private palette with a client?
Yes. Paid plans can create a private share link. Anyone with that special link can view the palette, while it remains hidden from public browsing. The owner can remove the private link at any time.
What is the difference between saving and copying a palette?
Saving adds a palette to your Saved Palettes collection without changing it. Copying creates your own editable project based on that public palette, so you can change its colors, roles, and strategy.
Can I name a palette for a client or project?
Yes. Palette owners can add a project title and upload a full SVG logo plus a separate SVG mark. Those assets are then used throughout the visualizer and relevant exports.
Can I delete a palette or my account?
Yes. Palette owners can delete their own projects. You can also permanently delete your account from the Account page after confirming your password or account access.
04

Visualizer and exports

What does the color visualizer show?
The visualizer applies the current palette to websites, mobile interfaces, social profiles, logo pairings, patterns, app icons, email signatures, gradients, and analytics charts. It is designed to show how the system behaves beyond isolated swatches.
What can I export?
Everyone can export a shareable palette JPG. Starter and higher plans add Palette PDF export. Solopreneur and Agency also include Export Color Guides PDF with strategy, roles, usage guidance, and technical color values.
Are ColorFly exports branded?
The free shareable JPG includes ColorFly.design attribution. Paid plans receive brand-free JPG and PDF exports for professional client delivery.
Can I adjust CMYK values for print?
Yes. ColorFly calculates an initial CMYK conversion for every palette color and lets the palette owner edit those values to match a preferred print conversion or production workflow.
What are color tokens, role tokens, and JSON exports?
Color tokens store the palette values for development. Role tokens connect those values to jobs such as button backgrounds, text, links, and surfaces. JSON provides a structured format that can be moved into design systems, development workflows, or other compatible tools.
Can I use a ColorFly palette in myLogo.review?
Yes. The myLogo.review export copies every color with its name, HEX, role, and CMYK values. Paste that payload into Logo Export on myLogo.review to prepare logo files with the ColorFly palette.
05

Plans and account

Can I use ColorFly for free?
Yes. Warm Up includes 5 AI actions per month plus public palette creation, manual color editing, role editing, visualization, public-palette copying, and shareable JPG export. No credit card is required.
What are the monthly AI limits?
Warm Up includes 5 AI actions, Starter includes 50, Solopreneur includes 250, and Agency includes 1,000 AI actions per monthly cycle.
Why do I need to verify my email?
You can access your account before verification, but AI actions remain locked until the email address is confirmed. This protects accounts and prevents repeated free-credit abuse.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Yes. Open Manage Billing from your Account page to change or cancel a subscription securely through Stripe. After cancellation, paid access remains active until the end of the current billing period.
How are payments handled?
Subscription checkout, recurring billing, invoices, and billing management are processed securely by Stripe. ColorFly does not store your full card details.
Do you use cookies or analytics?
ColorFly uses essential browser storage for account and site functionality. Limited cookieless measurement may be used to understand traffic, while Google Analytics cookies are only enabled when you accept analytics where consent is required.
How can I contact ColorFly support?
Email contact@colorfly.design with your account email, the palette link when relevant, and a short description of the issue.
